Justin's 22nd Birthday Challenge

Robyn Spoon / Honor Pages

In honor of Justin's 22nd birthday in late January, we are raising funds to help propel needed research for rare childhood cancers such as rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS). The $3400 goal was created to represent the approximately 340 people diagnosed with RMS each year. This is literally 340 people donating $10 each.

About Justin's 22nd Birthday Challenge

In November of 2020, our family was thrust headfirst into a battle no one ever wishes to face. After several weeks with an unexplained lump, a quickly scheduled surgery and a long and dreadful wait on pathology, we discovered that Justin has Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS). Justin is a college senior at Asbury University, with plans to become a School Psychologist working with children on the autism spectrum. During his time at Asbury, Justin has enjoyed running cross country, leading Bible studies for other undergraduate students, participating in a range of musical activities and playing ultimate frisbee. He was in his final senior season of cross country with strong hopes to qualify for his third trip to Nationals when he was diagnosed with RMS. Our family quickly became aware of the lack of research dollars being invested in RMS and other rare childhood cancers. As a result, promising treatments that are less toxic and more effective are on hold. Please join us in helping to make safer, more effective treatments a reality by donating to cc-TDI.
