About Peyton
On January 26, 2013 Peyton was diagnosed with Stage IV Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma. Our lives turned upside down that day as Peyton began a fifteen month battle with cancer. He endured 54 weeks of chemotherapy, 25 proton radiation sessions to his spine, over 30 MRIs, CT scans and bone scans. Five radiation sessions to his brain, many bone marrow aspirations, brain surgery, and countless other medical procedures too numerous to list. Throughout his treatment, Peyton kept a positive attitude. Peyton loved having nerf gun wars with nurses and doctors. He enjoyed flying his remote controlled helicopters and driving his iPad robot throughout the halls of the hospital. He worked very hard on his schoolwork and maintain straight "A's" while going through treatment. He wanted to be able to jump right back in to school when his chemotherapy was finished. Peyton never asked "why me" during his treatment and always held out hope he would beat his cancer.
Although Peyton passed away on April 29th, 2014, he left a behind a legacy by donating his tumor cells to CC-TDI. Our hope and Peyton's hope, is that one day CC-TDI will find better treatments and a hopefully cure for childhood cancers. We hope that no child and family has to go through what many families like ours have endured. We are grateful to Dr. Keller and CC-TDI for all the work they are doing for childhood cancer. We are also incredibly grateful for your gracious donation to CC-TDI to help find a cure!
